Aeronautical Engineering : Courses | Eligibility | Entrance Exam | Admission Fees Details 2018
“Aeronautical engineering” is the primary branch of engineering. Aeronautical or aerospace engineering is connected to the development and day-to-day development of new technologies in the field of space exploration, defense systems and aviation industry. After the “B-Tech Aeronautical engineering”, students get a job opportunity in govt. and private sectors are paid by the official scales while in private divisions are paid by the scales chosen by the administration of the organization.
“Aeronautical Engineering” is one of the most famous fields for the applicant who wish to make their career in construction, development, designing, testing and maintenance of commercial & military aircraft, and different types of satellites, spacecraft, and missiles. Aerospace Engineering can be said to be made of two sections- Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering.
What is Aeronautical Engineering?
Aeronautical Engineering involves practical and theoretical understanding of parts, assembling testing materials, and maintenance of aircraft. “Aeronautical engineering” deals with the technology and development in aviation, defense and exploration system. Astronautical Engineering primarily deals with the manufacturing, Satellites, design, maintenance, Rockets, development of Spacecrafts, and other man made structures that are capable of leaving the Earth’s atmosphere and travel to outer space.
Aeronautical Engineering Eligibility Criteria 2018
Under-graduate students must passout class 12 from a recognised board. The students’ have a choice to choose the field after X+2 non-medical stream with good score and post graduate students B.Tech degree in the given areas: Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Automobile, Chemical, Naval Architecture, Electrical, Electronics, Metallurgy & Material Science, Instrumentation, Mechatronics etc.
- Course – B-Tech Aeronautical Engineering
- Degree – B.E (Bachelor of Engineering)/B Tech (Bachelor of Technology)
- Duration- 4 years (8 semesters)
- Eligibility criteria- X+2 non-medical stream passed (with PCM)
Students required to pass in Board and JEE Main to get the admission into B-tech branch. For admission to post graduate aeronautical courses like M-Tech students have to appear in GATE 2018 exam.
Applicant who have cleared XIIth board exam are eligible for b-tech aeronautical engineering and he / she can apply for this course.
Applicants who had a B-Tech degree in electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering can get the admission in M-Tech with “B Tech aeronautical“.
The Students need to attend the entrance exams which are normally conducted by the campus. You will have to appear for engineering entrance examination. The entrance exam for engineering in India are conducted in State level. A candidate who has passed X+2 examination with PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 50% or more marks in each subject) is eligible for appearing in the exam.

Career and Job Scope
In case of Aeronautical Engineers, job opportunities are many. Jobs are available in Government as well as Private sectors!
All government & private aviation organizations and aircraft & spacecraft manufacturing and testing units generally require the trained btech aeronautical students. There are lots of companies which recruit the aeronautical engineers.
You are eligible for not only in production of aircraft even you also do job in high-speed trains (bullet trains), flying gadgets, turbine, and turbine production & design, when completed your degree in b-tech aeronautical, . This salary specification depends a lot on the quality of the Institute from which the Graduate has pursued the course as well as the profile of the employer. In case of Government job, salary will be fixed, as per the pay band.
An aeronautical engineer earns the normally salary in India between the 4.5 lakh to 6.5 lakh per annum. It has a great opportunity to work in the government sector.
